The Fearrington House Inn

After spending the past few weeks on the road down south from NYC, a special mention is to be had for a rather small, piece of perfection, in North Carolina. A place called The Fearrington House Inn in Pittsboro, between the towns of Chapel Hill and Raleigh. I happened to just stumble upon it whilst doing some research for this Road Trip of ours, that has taken us from NYC down to New Orleans and around to Miami and back up again…

The Fearrington House Inn has an delightful, Forbes Travel Guide 5 star rated restaurant with Grand Chef, Colin Bedford at the helm. Beautiful, fresh,
seasonal dishes are served nightly in a white country house, situated under tall oak trees. We had an awesome dinner on the first night. I wanted to run into the kitchen and give the team a standing ovation after every dish…but, that would be silly.

The property itself is under the umbrella of Relais Châteaux – renowned for the perfect foody getaway. It was my first time staying at a Relais Chateaux hotel, and I now know – it won’t be my last!

The Inn is located on a farm with cute Belted Galloways, cooling themselves off under the shade of the wrought iron shacks and welcoming you at the front gates. “Awwww! Cute!” could be heard in our car, as we drove into the property on our arrival.

With a full service spa – I recommended getting a massage. You have your own room, with a huge hot-tub at your disposal. Utter bliss? Uh huh!

McIntyre’s Book Shop, Goat Cafe and another cute little casual restaurant, The Granary are also on the grounds… Not to mention the on-site fashion boutique which is like a mini-Barney’s in the country. I’m sure we spent about 3 hours in there trying everything on. Hand picked clothes and accessories for guys and gals. It’s not your usual hotel boutique.

Every little detail was perfection. The newly renovated rooms where incomparable. Beautiful soft linens, nightly turn-down service which included house-made chocolates and a small decanter of port…and plush slippers by your bed. Yes, please.

If you’re looking for the perfect Americana farm getaway, you have to spend some time at The Fearrington House Inn. Your body will thank you!
